St. Owen's Chambers

22 St. Owen Street
Hereford
HR1 2PL
St. Owen's Chambers

History

This building was once used as a brewery, evidence can still be seen in the cellar where the ale used to be stored. This building was also once two buildings but has now been converted into one building and is currently used as offices. The original staircases mirroring each other can still be seen inside the building.

Paranormal Activity

There is an air of spookiness about this building, especially when you are alone or venturing upstairs into the attic or down below into the old cellar. There is often a feeling of being watched and strange noises can sometimes be heard when the offices are quiet. A young girl has been seen out the corner of an eye on the left hand side staircase, with long dark hair but no one was there when the witness looked directly up at the staircase. A shadow has also been spotted on the 1st floor landing but when looked at directly no one has been there. One story told by an old worker working in the cellar tells of a strange occurrence when fixing a light. He placed his screwdriver down by his side but when he went to pick it up it had moved all the way across the room to the other side. There was no breeze and no one had been down the cellar with him.

Paranormal Activity

A feeling of oppression haunts this house. Items often vanish and then found in strange places. The front door was said to be often found open when securely locked at night. No-one had been in or out.

Previous tenants have experienced waking up in the early hours to hear children running up and down the stairs. The feeling of dread to go home, and never alone!

90 South Street

Leominster Herefordshire
90 South Street

History

Set behind a later townhouse frontage, a 17th century Grade II listed former barn over three storeys.

Paranormal Activity

This former barn and public house is said to house the ghost of a highywayman, which has been seen to walk down the stairs and through the wall at the bottom which was beleived to have once been a door. The two houses next door were also part of this building.

A strange pipe tobacco smell originates from the attic bedrooms and the door connecting the two attic bedrooms often opens by itself, even when all windows and the latch are firmly closed.

Previous tenants say their cat acts strangely around the staircase area, looking up as if someone is there.

One interior beam still smells of leather where the horses equipment was placed. Animal bones were found up the chimney, a ritual to bless the house?
