Guildhall Lane Leicester Leicestershire LE1 5FQ

History
This timber-framed hall was once used as meeting hall, courtroom, parlour, library, museum and is now a performance venue. It escaped calls for its demolition in the early 1900s. The Great Hall was built around 1390 as a meeting place for the Guild of Corpus Christi. Between 1876 and the early 1900s, the hall was used as a local police headquarters, which saw many unsavoury characters go through its doors.
Paranormal Activity
The White Lady is rarely seen but apparently moves furniture around the Library. Some believe it's not a White Lady, but the ghost of a monk dressed in grey, which may be explained by the fact that there used to be an Old Grey Friars Monastery, located only 300 yards from Guildhall. A Cavalier type character has also been seen in the Great Hall, as well as a phantom dog and black cat. Staff often close the bible that sits on the main table of the library to find in the morning that the White Lady/Monk have opened it up to the same page each time. Some claim that they've seen legs grow from the portrait of Henry Earl of Huntington, which hangs in the Mayor's Parlour.

History
The Hall dates from 1680 and in recent times has been used as a nursing home, hospital and conference centre. In 1758, it was the home of Sir Wolston Dixie and his daughter Ann.
Paranormal Activity
Ann was in love with the gardener's son, he would often visit her in her room late at night. Her father found out and didn't approve. He set mantraps in the grounds of the house. They were meant for Anns lover, but on this particular night Ann had arranged to meet in her fathers hut and it was Ann who stepped into one of the traps. Extremely injured in the leg Ann crawled back to her room but lost a lot of blood and soon died.
There is a permanent reminder on the downstairs ceiling where her blood soaked through from the floor of her room. She still walks the floors of the house looking for love...or revenge. She is said to be the Grey Lady.

History
Paranormal Activity
It is thought that the sound of droning sometimes reported over the former airbase is that of a Manchester bomber - a high loss ratio ensured that these aircraft were later replaced with Lancasters. A phantom light source has also been reported moving in the tower, and a pilot in full kit was seen once.
